How to Explore Nuremberg in 2 Days: Rain or Shine Itinerary

Great, you’ve picked the perfect amount of time to visit Nuremberg (in my opinion)!

With two days, you’ll have enough time to explore the best parts of the city without feeling rushed. Plus, two days gives you some flexibility to adjust your plans based on the weather. If the forecast predicts rain one day, you can plan indoor activities for that day and save the outdoor attractions for when the weather is better. And guess what, that’s how I’ve put together this 2-day Nuremberg itinerary!

I labeled the itineraries “Day 1” and “Day 2,” but don’t get confused! Day 1 doesn’t have to be your first day in Nuremberg, and Day 2 doesn’t have to be your second. I planned Day 1 for a nice weather day in Nuremberg, and Day 2 for a rainy or bad weather day. You can swap them based on the weather forecast. If the forecast is sunny when you arrive, start with “Day 1.” Otherwise, go with “Day 2.”

Important: You can learn about the top tourist attractions in this itinerary using my list of the best things to do in Nuremberg or my Discovery Guide to Nuremberg.

For this day, we aim to do the following:

After sightseeing and exploring, it’s time to check out the museums. During our 2-day stay in Nuremberg, we’ll learn more about German history and culture. We’ll focus on the museums in the southern part of the city in this part of the itinerary. At the end of the day, we’ll head to one of the city’s most charming streets to shop for souvenirs.
