About The Author

Hi there! My name is Eljon, and I’m a European at heart, even though I was born in Asia. Welcome to WanderInEurope, a project born from my passion for exploring the beauty of the old continent. I have a deep love for all things European, from its rich history and charming traditional architecture to its majestic mountain ranges. Join me as I discover, document, and share the most picturesque destinations Europe has to offer.

I started traveling in 2018, and it has changed my life ever since.

I used to work a 9-5 job as a corporate electronics engineer, but now I’m living the dream as a full-time digital nomad, creating travel content and planning trips. I’ve spent years mastering travel apps and tools like Google Maps, Google Travel, Rome2Rio, Trip Advisor, Komoot, Alltrails, PeakVisor, and more. And I put all that expertise to good use here at WanderInEurope.

Traveling did not only change my career but my entire perspective in life.

Traveling has taught me the importance of living in the moment and cherishing the beautiful moments we experience. It’s shown me how important it is to spend time with the people we love and doing the things we enjoy.

I’m writing about Europe because I love Europe.

My fascination with Europe began when I was just a child, reading The Chronicles of Narnia. Growing up on an island in the Pacific, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the unique features of Europe, like its monarchies and royals, medieval cities and fairytales, castles, and stunning alpine scenery. Movies and TV shows like Lord of the Rings, Rings of Power, Merlin, and Wheel of Time only fueled my desire to explore and write about this incredible continent.
